EELP is hiring a Managing Attorney

The Environmental & Energy Law Program (EELP) at Harvard Law School is seeking a Managing Attorney to lead our legal and policy research on climate change, equitable disaster preparedness and response, and durable legal frameworks that drive meaningful engagement and produce more just environmental and public health outcomes for impacted communities.

The Yale College Environmental Studies Program is hiring full-time, non-tenure-track lecturer with an initial 3-year appointment in environmental policy, politics, and law beginning July 1, 2026. The teaching expectation is normally 5 undergraduate course equivalents per academic year, including service to the undergraduate Environmental Studies program. The primary focus of instruction includes survey courses in the topical areas of United States and global environmental policy. Strong candidates will have an advanced degree (e.g. Ph.D., J.D.) in Environmental Policy, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, Geography, or Law, or have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. prior to the start date.

Associate Dean of Environmental Programs and Director of the Maverick Lloyd School for the Environment

The Vermont Law and Graduate School invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of Environmental Programs and Director of the Maverick Lloyd School for the Environment. Clinical Fellowship in the Environmental Justice Law and Advocacy Clinic, Yale Law School

The Clinical fellowship in the Environmental Justice Law and Advocacy (EJLA) Clinic is a two-year position with a third-year option. This fellowship is designed for lawyers with at least three years of legal practice experience who are considering a career in law school teaching. The fellow will work with the Environmental Justice Law and Advocacy Clinic on multi-modal client representations related to the advancement of environmental justice and intersectional concerns such as Tribal sovereignty, energy and climate, public health, civil rights, natural resource management, and participatory environmental governance. Speciﬁc responsibilities include supervising students in representation of clients, developing clinical pedagogy, co-teaching classes, participating in the clinic’s intake process and developing new matters, supervising summer legal interns and managing cases when school is not in session, and pursuing a scholarship agenda.

Environmental Law & Policy Clinic Director – Visiting Clinical Professor, Suffolk University

The Environmental Law & Policy Clinic (“ELPC”), established in 2023 to meet growing student demand and urgent community need, is one of 15 in-house clinics at Suffolk Law School. The Visiting Clinical Professor will lead and teach all aspects the ELPC, including managing the docket, supervising clinical students in their case and project work, and teaching the related clinical seminar. The Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor with work closely with a Practitioner in Residence (PIR), who also teaches in the ELPC, as well as an adjunct faculty member who was the founding director of the ELPC. The ELPC is a full-year clinic offered for 10 credits (5 credits/semester) serving students in their last 2 years of law school. Students enrolled in the ELPC work on a variety of local, state, and/or federal environmental, energy, and land use legal matters, including representing non-profits, citizen groups, and governmental agencies on regulatory and environmental policy issues, including litigation support, on today’s most pressing issues. A substantial focus of the ELPC’s work is on supporting underserved communities and advocates on matters concerning land conservation, sand mining, and water resource protection in Southeastern Massachusetts. Students also provide analysis and education on various legislative/regulatory initiatives.

Associate Attorney, Fossil Fuels

This position will focus on oil and gas infrastructure and related projects in the U.S. Gulf region, particularly Louisiana and Texas. The attorney in this position will be based in the New Orleans’ satellite office space shared with other Fossil Fuel Program staff.

Associate Attorney, National Climate

Earthjustice is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team of lawyers who work to curb greenhouse gas emissions and protect communities by advancing rules, policies, and decisions to limit and prevent the federal permitting of climate-damaging infrastructure projects across the country. The position will be part of the National Climate, Fossil Fuel Infrastructure team whose members are in multiple locations; applicants seeking to work in locations where Earthjustice has an office will be considered.

Associate Attorney, Washington DC Regional

The Washington, D.C. office serves both as a center for litigation on important national environmental issues and a regional office for issues arising in Mid-Atlantic States. The office’s docket currently includes litigation and administrative advocacy to curb climate change pollution, protect clean air and water, promote a transition to zero emission energy sources, and secure strong energy efficiency standards for the nation.  A significant focus of our public health work is preventing environmental harms to children, disproportionately impacted communities of color, and low-income communities.

Attorney or Senior Attorney (Energy), Institute for Policy Integrity

Policy Integrity is seeking an attorney to be a key member of a diverse team to advocate for the efficient decarbonization of the energy system. The attorney will work closely with Policy Integrity’s economists and lawyers to advance federal, regional, and state energy policy, focusing on wholesale electricity market design, transmission infrastructure, and natural gas pipelines. Depending on interest and need, the attorney will also have the opportunity to work on select Policy Integrity projects outside of the area of energy regulation. This position will report to Policy Integrity’s Federal Energy Policy Director.

Staff Attorney or Senior Attorney for Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Program, EIP

EIP is accepting applications for an Attorney at the Staff or Senior level to join our team working to hold industrial polluters and federal and state agencies accountable for compliance with the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. Working with EIP’s team of lawyers, analysts and engineers, the Staff or Senior Attorney will work to reduce air and water pollution from industrial sources through federal and state administrative permitting and rulemaking processes. EIP works across the United States, but this position will have a special focus on industrial sources located in Texas and Louisiana. The position will be based in Texas or Louisiana and may require occasional travel in these states or to other locations within the United States.
