Senior Attorney – Ocean Conservation, Conservation Law Foundation

The Senior Attorney will work to advance the Ocean Conservation Program’s priorities and to promote solutions to the region’s biggest environmental challenges using litigation, policy, and legislative advocacy. Under the Ocean Conservation Program, the work will focus on sustainable fisheries management, ocean habitat protection, marine mammal protection and ocean planning. Earthjustice’s Northwest Regional Office is looking to hire a collaborative and experienced Senior Attorney to join the team working on environmental, energy, and human health issues in the Pacific NW. The Senior Attorney will focus on accelerating the shift towards electrification of goods movement, the transportation sector, and associated industries. The Senior Attorney will concentrate on strategy, public advocacy, and litigation in state legislatures and regulatory agencies, Washington’s Utilities & Transportation Commission (UTC), Oregon’s Public Utility Commission (PUC), and state and federal courts to support an equitable transition to clean, affordable, and reliable energy.

Senior Attorney for Enforcement Program, Environmental Integrity Project

EIP is accepting applications for a Senior Attorney to join our team working to hold industrial polluters and federal and state agencies accountable for compliance with environmental laws. The Senior Attorney will support EIP’s Enforcement Program and work to reduce pollution from industrial sources through citizen suit enforcement actions and other advocacy strategies. EIP takes legal action to clean up pollution; we publish data-driven reports that push federal and state regulators to better protect public health; and we work with frontline communities to provide them with the resources they need to obtain the protection of our environmental laws.

Senior Attorney, NRDC

The Senior Attorney will play a key role in NRDC’s oceans-related federal litigation and regulatory advocacy as a senior member of the Oceans Division. The Senior Attorney will join a team of experienced ocean conservation advocates and litigators and help lead our ocean defense work, including to uphold bedrock conservation laws and protect ocean wildlife. The Office of the New York State Attorney General’s (OAG) Environmental Protection Bureau is seeking Project Attorneys to serve in the New York City office. The selected attorneys will be hired as Project Attorneys for a 24-month term with the possibility to extend for an additional 12 months. The Environmental Protection Bureau enforces state and federal environmental laws that protect New Yorkers’ rights to clean air, clean water, and safe and healthy communities, and conducts investigations into violations of those laws. Assistant Attorney General, New York

The Office of the New York State Attorney General’s (OAG) Environmental Protection Bureau is seeking a litigator to serve in the New York City office. This position involves representing the state in environmental, public health, and energy matters in lawsuits in state and federal court, and in proceedings before administrative agencies. The Environmental Protection Bureau enforces state and federal environmental laws that protect New Yorkers’ rights to clean air, clean water, and safe and healthy communities, and conducts investigations into violations of those laws. The bureau is focused on advancing environmental justice throughout the state, including addressing the inequitable distribution of pollution and other environmental health burdens, and associated health disparities. The bureau also defends in both federal and state courts the state’s executive agencies charged with environmental responsibilities, including the Departments of Environmental Conservation, Health, and Transportation; the Adirondack Park Agency; and the Lake George Park Commission, among others. The bureau is a national leader in multistate federal environmental advocacy and litigation.

Special Assistant Attorney General, Enviornmental Protection Unit, Arizona

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) is hiring an attorney with litigation experience and a background in environmental and water law to join the Environmental Protection Unit in the Civil Division as a Special Assistant Attorney General – Litigation Director. Under the direction of the Chief of the Environmental Protection Unit (EPU), attorneys and staff, including the Litigation Director, are expected to work closely with the Civil Litigation Division (CLD) Chief, attorneys in the Consumer Protection and Advocacy Section (CPA), environmental investigators, and the Attorney General to prosecute priority actions to the fullest extent of the law where warranted.
