Environmental Moot Court Initiative
Strong appellate advocacy is essential to shaping the future of environmental law. The Environmental Moot Court Initiative offers advocates a place to practice their arguments before a mock court — honing the skills needed to succeed in complex litigation before trial and appellate courts, where many critical environmental battles are won or lost.
While several top law schools offer moot court programs, none focus specifically on the unique challenges of environmental law. Environmental litigation often involves layered questions of jurisdiction, administrative law, and remedy — areas that require deep legal knowledge and strategic nuance. The Environmental Moot Court Initiative fills that gap.
Our students are a vital component of the Moot Court Initiative. Before the moot, they help prepare the panel and provide valuable feedback for advocates as our students bring similar perspectives to the clerks assisting judges prepare for argument.
