Well Wishes to Kate Konschnik in New Post

Kate Konschnik, who has served as the Director of the Law School’s Environmental Policy Initiative since 2012, and most recently as Executive Director of the Program, will leave HLS for a new post at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke University. “Kate has done a tremendous job for us at HLS, launching our environmental policy shop, supervising top quality research, and working creatively with a variety of government and industry stakeholders to develop solutions to pressing climate and energy problems,” said Jody Freeman, the Director of the Environmental Law Program. “The Nicholas Institute is a wonderful enterprise and we look forward to collaborating with Kate as she joins the team there.” Ari Peskoe, Senior Fellow in the Policy Initiative will assume the helm of Acting Director of EPI while the Program conducts a search for Kate’s replacement. “The work our program is doing, to design and promote creative legal solutions to the environmental challenges of our time, is especially pressing and important in the Trump era as we witness efforts to roll back hard-fought gains,” Freeman said. “It’s an energizing time for our faculty, students and staff.”
